3R Expertise – Hot testing

Specialist in thermomechanical testing, 3R offers you equipment enabling mechanical testing at elevated temperatures up to 1250 °C, while controlling the temperature at the core of the specimen. Our solutions are suitable for all types of tests: hot tensile testing, creep, load holding, compression or shear under controlled temperature.

Furnaces, climatic chambers and heating plates can be integrated into 3R frames or offered as standalone solutions according to your needs.

Tensile furnaces – Up to 1250 °C

Our split-shell opening furnaces are designed to guarantee access, safety and thermal stability during hot testing.

Main features:

  • Operating temperature up to 1250 °C, insulated up to 1400 °C
  • Stainless steel construction in two perforated parts (passive self-ventilation)
  • Useful height up to 400 mm for large elongations
  • Multizone heating Ø90 mm, optimized homogeneity
  • Total power: 3 × 1 kW
  • Top/bottom passages Ø25 mm – other dimensions on request
  • Specific openings for extensometer or insertion thermocouple

Heating plates enable thermal testing on flat specimens or blocks:

  • Dimensions: 150×150, 200×200, 300×300 mm
  • Solid aluminum bearing surface
  • 4 to 6 stainless steel cartridge heaters

Climatic chambers – For controlled closed atmosphere

Designed for creep, holding or thermal cycle testing, our chambers are available in standard or custom versions.

Features:

  • Standard dimensions ST1, ST2, SP2 or customized (ST1 220x220x580; ST2 420x420x580; SP2 420x420x780)
  • Control system with Eurotherm 3216 controller
  • Removable top/bottom ports, Borofloat glass for video extensometer
