Eiffage Infrastructure is involved in the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure, civil engineering structures, roads and urban developments.

As part of its material testing and characterisation activities, the laboratory needed to expand its testing capabilities for UHPFRC, an ultra-high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete used in highly stressed structures.

Eiffage Infrastructure required equipment capable of testing UHPFRC prism specimens in accordance with EN 14651, including :

• three-point and four-point flexural testing ;
• deflection measurement ;
• crack mouth opening displacement monitoring ;
• reliable data acquisition ;
• the ability to integrate additional testing applications over time.

The objective was to provide a precise, stable and upgradeable testing machine capable of characterising UHPFRC behaviour, particularly after initial cracking.
