Maturity Meter

Strength Measurement
Maturity monitoring made simple
Method enabling, from concrete temperature monitoring, the determination of its strength at any point in a structure.
Reliable, efficient and instantaneous method.
This method consists, from concrete temperature monitoring, in determining the degree of advancement of chemical reactions corresponding to its hardening.
It ultimately enables knowing the in-situ concrete strength from the relationship between degree of advancement and strength determined by calibration performed in the laboratory.
The method is based on Arrhenius’ law, which enables expressing the ratio K between the times required to obtain the same degree of hardening at temperatureqand 20°C.
The maturity meter complies with:
-
the recommendations of the CALIBRE National Project
-
the LCPC technical guide on maturity monitoring
-
standard ASTMC1074-98 (Estimating concrete strength by maturity method)
Although underused on construction sites, it nevertheless provides significant improvements in terms of:
-
Safety: for delicate operations such as formwork removal, lifting, cable tensioning…
-
Productivity gain: direct reading of results
-
Quality: avoiding the risk of cracking, by controlling durability, color,…
