Video extensometers are either mounted on a stand or integrated into the machine. In this case, they can be retracted to a protected area when not in use. They are non-contact and can therefore work until specimen failure.

A dedicated application manages the extensometer and transmits measured information such as displacement or strain in real time. Thanks to the use of one or two high-resolution cameras, the video extensometer offers very good characteristics even for low-strain tests.
