Pulsating Tensile Very High Cycle Fatigue – MEG 20 TT

The MEG-20 TT is a Very High Cycle Fatigue (VHCF) machine dedicated to fully reversed and pulsating tensile tests (load ratio R=-1 and 0<R<1). It enables the characterization of the mechanical behavior of materials under fatigue.

The MEG 20 TT assembly consists of a testing frame and a Grey Box. The MEG 20 TT frame can be placed on a table or on a robust mechanically welded steel pedestal.

The testing frame incorporates ultrasonic excitation technology that enables the specimen of interest to be loaded at a frequency approaching 20kHz. One billion cycles is thus reached in only 14 hours, reducing the time required to obtain Wöhler curves. And of course, machine occupation time, greatly improving return on investment!

It also includes a preload device with backlash compensation enabling pulsating tensile tests to be performed (0<R<1).

The Grey Box contains the control/acquisition part of the device. Interfacing is performed via a computer application.
